In the last post, we had some tough love and squashed some fat-loss myths – in this post I’m going to lay out the fundamentals to getting rid of your muffin top to reveal the sexy you underneath.

You don’t want to just hide your muffin top away, that’s just a temporary solution which will probably lead to a bigger muffin top in the end. So, the most important thing you can start doing today is: Correct your diet!

Ok, ok, I hear you groaning there, but honestly it doesn’t have to be difficult if you commit to it. In fact, when you think about it, isn’t having a beautiful, gorgeous body worth more than having a few candies, or a slice of cake? That fantastic figure is already yours! It’s just waiting for you to be good to your body and give it what it really wants.

If you really want to get rid of your muffin top, then you’ll need to cut down on the junk food and the sodas and focus on adding more green vegetables, fruits (but not too many) and high-quality proteins. Steer clear of refined flours and sugars – so don’t go crazy on the pastas – because that will make your muffin top happy, but not you.

It’s always a little tough getting your correcting your diet, but keep at it, because it gets easier and easier. Remember, it doesn’t matter if one day isn’t perfect, just get back up the next day and stick to your new, healthy, vibrant diet as best you can.

Soon you’ll find yourself looking more forward to the healthy food than anything else. It won’t be immediate, but when you start see the results in the mirror, a slimmer, sexier you, then you’ll know it’s working and you’ll be even more motivated to keep going.

Muffin Tops: who needs them? The thing I hear the most from people trying to get fit is: “How do I get rid of my muffin top?!” It doesn’t matter if it’s excess fat from a pregnancy, or simply because you’ve been a little lazy on the fitness front in the past. We all want to have that sexy, toned mid-section.

It doesn’t matter what your ideal figure looks like, as long as it’s something which makes you feel great, then I want to help you get there. The good news is that it can be fun (no, really) and when you start seeing the results when you look in the mirror… when you start to hear the compliments… you’ll feel even more motivated to keep going. So let’s get started!

First things first, it’s time for a bit of Amy’s tough love: your muffin top is not going to kick its’ own butt. This means you need to make a commitment to yourself to get busy! Remember, consistent action is much better than short bursts of motivation. And like the famous line: you ARE worth it.

Second, there’s a sneaky myth out there that needs to be squashed. Do you know what it is? It’s called the ‘spot-reduction myth’… or what I like to call the just-do-lots-of-situps myth. That is just false! You cannot simply target your abdominals (for instance) and hope to get rid of the body fat stored there – you have to reduce it all over.

Because guess what? You already have a sexy midsection just hidden by that layer of fat, and as you melt away the fat, you naturally reveal that fantastic body you didn’t even know you had.
